Ryan Kolzow

Assistant Coach

Ryan Kolzow is a native of Salina, who has coached around this community for almost thirty years.  He started his coaching career as an assistant with stops at Manhattan High, Sacred Heart and Southeast of Saline, being part of state championship teams in 1998 (Manhattan High) and 2000 (Sacred Heart).  While at Southeast Ryan had the privilege of coaching his brother while also getting to coach with his father, KABC Hall of Fame coach Dee Kolzow.

Ryan began his head coaching career in American Legion baseball, beginning with the 16U Salina Hawks from 1999-2003 and then the 18U Salina Falcons from 2004-2011.  Ryan was lucky enough to coach incredible teams that went 374-199 over that span winning state championships in 2001 with the Hawks and 2007 with the Falcons.  In late 2010 Ryan co-founded the Salina Spikes organization which continues to produce college players to this day.  He also coached in the Spikes organization from 2011-2021 and continued his coaching career assisting with the Salina Sliders of the Diamond Baseball League in 2026.

When Ryan isn’t on the baseball field his love is spending time with his family.  He and his wife, Kylee, have three kids: Jaxon, Brixen and Emma.  Jaxon is a senior free safety on the football team at Fort Hays State, Brixen is in her first year of college at Manhattan Tech where she plans on pursuing a career as a CRNA, and Emma is a sophomore in high school who enjoys tennis and pickleball.  The family enjoys traveling together when they get the chance, attending Fort Hays State games with Ryan’s parents Dee and Jan in the fall and cheering on the Chicago Cubs!
